Vinegar: The Eco-Friendly All-Purpose Cleaner
Green, organic cleaning for your home or business is a great way to be more eco-friendly and nontoxic! The more homes and businesses that choose to be organic and green, the more green and nontoxic our communities and planet will be!
Many people worry about efficacy or wonder about ingredients. This is our new blog series on the different ingredients used in organic, green cleaning and how it works! When done correctly, As Green Queen does, the service works fantastic and will keep you sparkling while protecting your home and the planet from toxic chemicals!
Our first powerhouse ingredient we use at Green Queen is vinegar. Vinegar is the mother of eco-friendly cleaning as you can use vinegar on almost everything in your home!
How to use:
- Use a small amount on the floors for mopping (For hardwoods consult your flooring company first)
- Use diluted in a spray bottle with essential oils for a great smell as an all-purpose cleaner.
- Use in the bathrooms to help prevent and kill mold and mildew.
- There is almost no better cleaner for your windows and glass!
- Great for most counters and non-wood surfaces.
- Use in the washing machine or dishwasher to refresh (consult your manufacturer first)
Be Mindful:
- Vinegar is not recommended for wood surfaces for its drying effects
- If you have specialty or easy to damage counters, tile or other surfaces, consult the manufacturer before using on surfaces such as marble etc.
- Some people don’t love the smell so you can add a little essential oil to help. The smell disappeared quickly too!
- Vinegar is made from corn, so we recommend using organic vinegar to avoid GMOs and any residual pesticides such as Roundup used on GMOs. We do not know if traditional vinegar is made from GMOs or contains these pesticides but we do know the vast majority of corn in the USA is GMO so we urge out of precaution.
Vinegar and essential oil is a great starting point for your eco-friendly, green, and organic pest cleaning needs. It is great to add to your cleaning program in between our services to stay green.
